The ADP210x operates in PWM Mode, also called Normal Mode, at medium and heavy loads for excellent efficiency and transient response. This mode is characterized by very square voltage waveforms at the LX switch node with a very triangular inductor output current waveform. The triangular waveform is indicative of a power supply that is in continuous current mode (CCM). Visualizing these two tell-tale waveforms is a clear indication that the step down regulator is working as it should and that it is in PWM Mode.
