The LMX9838 includes the GAP, SDAP and SPP Bluetooth profiles. Additional profiles based on RFCOMM (i.e., DUN, FAX, OPP and FTP) can be implemented on the host processor. Since the module already supports the voice audio packet types, the HS and HF profiles can also be implemented with some additional code on the host processor. The Simply Blue developer’s site has application notes that describe the minimal software required for the host processor. It should be noted that the LMX9838 only includes certification for the GAP, SDAP and SPP profiles. Any additional profiles will need to be certified by the designer.
