STSPIN32G0 Three-Phase BLDC Controller

STMicroelectronics' STSPIN32G0 high-voltage version includes components of the wide STSPIN32 3-phase motor controllers. The device embeds the outstanding performances of the 250 V gate drivers with the mainstream STM32 version (STM32G031C8). A single QFN10x10 combines the high performances of the microcontroller and the extreme robustness of the high-voltage gate driver.

This STPIN32 high-voltage family is offered in four versions: STSPIN32G0251Q, STSPIN32G0252Q, STSPIN32G0601Q, and STSPIN32G0602Q. The components guarantee scalability in supply voltage (250 V to 600 V) and gate driving current (250 mA/350 mA or 1 mA/0.85 mA source/sink current). The gate drivers feature a full set of protections, including a fast comparator for smart shutdown overcurrent and overload protection, cross-conduction prevention, and undervoltage lockout.

The integrated MCU (STM32G031C8) is based on the high-performance Cortex®-M0+ core, operating up to 64 MHz. This integrated MCU is the perfect fit for motion control, featuring a 12-bit ADC, internal voltage reference buffer, 16-bit PWM timer dedicated to motion control and up to 32 GPIOs, 64 kB of Flash, and 8 kB of SRAM. This powerful MCU guarantees the performance of various control algorithms, including field-oriented control sensored and sensorless with one, two, or three shunts, together with more traditional six-step driving.

This STPIN32 family targets a wide range of applications thanks to the flexibility of the external power stage. Some examples of optimal applications are home appliances, air conditioners, home and industrial refrigerators, industrial pumps, high-end power tools, and industrial automation.
